Welcome to Lakewood Hills No. 2 at King’s Grant

Lakewood Hills No. 2 at King’s Grant is comprised of 75 brick townhouses located on two tree-lined streets — Gavelwood Court and Golden Iris Court — in West Springfield, Virginia. We are located just off the Fairfax County Parkway and Huntsman Boulevard and in very close proximity to Huntsman Lake. Easy access to schools, libraries, parks, shopping and the Metro make this an ideal community in which to live, work and play.

Developed in 1981, we’re proud to boast that a number of our original homeowners remain in residence to this day. We enjoy a mixed demographic with a strong commitment to retaining the serenity, security and appearance of our neighborhood.

News

  • We are constantly providing tree maintenance to our community.  Report tree hazards to the Board. Contact a board member.

General Reminders

  • All Trash, Recycling, Yard Waste and Bulk Items are picked up on Mondays. Place these out at the curb no earlier than 4:00 PM on Sunday.
  • Please be respectful of your neighbors and put your trash in covered trash cans. If you are unable to get a trash can to the curb, you must double or triple the number of heavy gauge garbage bags used. This is particularly helpful in the event of inclement weather.
  • Trash and recycle cans must be returned to your home by Monday evening inside your fenced yard. Trash cans left out beyond Monday evening are considered abandoned and eligible for recycling.
  • Place your house number on your trash cans to help identify abandoned trash cans. Do not place trash cans on elevated decks.
  • Have you ever wondered if the trash and recycling will be picked up on a holiday or during a snowstorm? There is an easy way to get that information in advance of putting your trash out. Go to www.americandisposal.com and select Pickup Schedule. By entering your address, they will display the schedule for your townhouse. To make it easier, you can signup to get a notification of the schedule or only service interruptions. Select “Get a Reminder” and you may select when and how you want to be notified, for example, by text, email, phone, etc. This is particularly helpful in the event of inclement weather.
  • Be a good pet owner and pickup your pet waste. Scoop it up and bag it with the rest of your household garbage.
  • Do not store pet waste receptacles on stoop, please hide in bushes.
  • The neighborhood has a well-earned reputation for maintaining beautiful landscaping and grounds. Your HOA dollars have been replacing declining trees around our neighborhood for the enjoyment of all of our residents. However, we ask everyone’s assistance in maintaining their health by not breaking branches or climbing on young or ornamental trees that cannot handle the weight of some of our youth.
  • The safety of our neighborhood children is paramount, but it takes both drivers and children to help. To keep them safe, drivers must drive carefully and stay alert. Likewise, children should pay attention to the traffic when playing in the streets. We ask parents for their assistance in ensuring the children practice safe biking habits and watch for traffic when in the streets. Please respect the cars travelling on Gavelwood and Golden Iris. A word of caution, we have had a few residents report close calls and dangerous situations.

Homeowners Not-in Residence

  • Please provide the association with a current mailing address. This is critical, not only in case of emergency, but in order for you to receive important information and notifications from the HOA.
